Collective Composing is a project for the mediation and promotion of
contemporary improvised music and the emancipation of the audience.
A simple method of graphic notation will be introduced to the participants.
They will then receive a small guide, along with a sheet of paper and a pencil, to start
composing. Everyone is invited to draw their own spontaneous "score," inspired
by the principles of graphic notation, with no prior musical knowledge required.
These drawings, which can take any form or style, will then be randomly
distributed to the musicians.
The musicians will then interpret the scores drawn by members of the audience,
creating a collective composition together. Throughout the evening, several
compositions will be generated and played, making the audience the true
authors of the performance.
